Odyssey Of Hyrule - A Glimpse Of A Fantastic World!

The Beginning!

Hyrule was formed by the goddesses Din, Farore and Nayru. According to a Hylian legend depicted in Ocarina of Time, the physical geography of the realm was created by Din, the laws to govern the land were created by Nayru, and the races to uphold the law and the flora and fauna that inhabit the world were created by Farore. When the goddesses had completed their creations, they left the heavens,  leaving behind three golden triangles. They put in them their power to govern all things - a relic called the Triforce.  The realm was  named after its dominant race, the Hylia.

The land of Hyrule, depicted for the first time in The Legend of Zelda, which was released in Spring 1986, is the place where the adventures of the series' protagonist Link mostly take place. A lot of map areas of Hyrule appear throughout the series. Lost Woods, Kakariko Village, Death Mountain and Lake Hylia are battlegrounds where future events of the series take place although some games of the series are set in lands other than Hyrule, like Link's Awakening, which takes place on Koholint Island. Majora's Mask, is taking place in Termina. Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages both are taking place in Holodrum and Labrynn. The Wind Waker and Phantom Hourglass both are taking place in the flooded Hyrule - the Great Sea.
